View Full Version : Compiz doesn't start, no error given...

I have been using Compiz Fusion since Fiesty back in July. I have never had much of a problem with it that someone else hadn't reported and found a solution for until today. I discovered the error today when I tried starting my computer, it wouldn't start and kicked me back to the login prompt. I started it in failsafe mode, and tried starting compiz manually in a terminal (since i have read other topics where people have had similar problems and it being due to compiz), and it reverted to metacity (thank god I set the Crash switcher), and the only thing it said was:
aborting and using fallback: /usr/bin/metacity
Nothing came before it, nothing came after it. I got this after trying to add blur to the back of my translucent terminal (which filled up all my RAM and crashed my computer). I tried disabling it, and Blur Windows altogether, and nothing worked. Now I am stuck using Metacity (which I hate not only for the lack of compositing for my screenlets, but also for the lack of my animations :-P). Someone help please!
