How to control a set top box?

I need to change channels on my set top (cable) box and am not sure how to go about doing that. I know I need a channel changing script (that is referenced in the mythtv settings), and I think I need to have an entry for it in the lircd.conf, but I'm really not sure.
I've seen a lot of posts using the serial irblaster, but I've got a PVR-150 with the integrated receiver and transmitter (blaster).

Can anyone enlighten me on the process?

Or better yet, does anyone have a channel changing script that they could post?

I was having a bit of trouble with the blaster and need to apply an updated ( Unofficial ) package. To get things smoothed out. til an official patch is available
