PPC Ubuntu 7.04 installer, iMac (summer 2001 version, white) 600mHz, 512mb PC-133, 40gb HDD, installed in about 18 (eighteen) hours, very slow reaction time. After I log on ... it takes about 1,5 hours to get the main d-top screen... What can I do ??? Tnx in advance for help.

Edit:
Ok, when I try to edit (after having lunch, work, coffee, chats and so on ;-) ) the graphics (which seem to be ok, it recognizes the ati 128 and so on) I get a Kernel panic ... ? There's nothing to panic I would think, there's no cd in the drive, there's nothing other than the Ubuntu on the Hard Drive ... what is causing this extreem slowness? It gets to the log-in screen now pretty fast (about 4 to 6 minutes) but then its mickey-time again ... it gives the "jungle log-in theme" and then ... mickey(soft)time again ...

Edit:
Well now, did a "all to -0-" on the HDD and loaded the 6-version of xubuntu, installing went very well and fast ... untill the reboot ... tried running it again, no go. Not even (original) OS 10.2 or 10.4 is recognized anymore. Only black screens ... :-( (and I do know how to reset a Mac ;-) What could be the problem here? Anyone?
