I remain forever skeptical about ATI drivers, as an older beleagured ATI user, I can say that previous driver sets disallowed for any level of happy functionality that did not include hours and hours of frustration.

Still, these newer features "seem" promising.

Sounds good. Will we be seeing them in Gutsy or Hardy?

Hardy properly....well somebody may backports the driver.

Got it installed OK, opengl, compiz and direct rendering are all running.

EVE crashes quite abruptly after the login screen though, only game I really play these days so no go for me.

Tried disabling Compiz when running EVE?

Yeah, it just hangs. Not sure what the problem is.
