http://www.mythbuntu.org/downloads

Starting with Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron), all Mythbuntu releases are simultaneously released with Ubuntu releases. This means that updates will be provided twice a year, typically in April and October. Since we strive to include all changes directly in Ubuntu, upgrading an existing box to a newer Mythbuntu release will just be a matter of following the standard upgrade process as described on http://ubuntu.com/getubuntu/upgrading.
The upgrade procedure will only upgrade Mythbuntu packages if you don't have a gnome or kde desktop installed.

What did the last sence mean? If you install Gnome or KDE you will never be able to upgrade the Mythbuntu part? Or will it only upgrade to older packages that are into the Ubuntu-Responcible but not tha brand new that are in Mythbuntu?

That does read a little strange. I believe that it is just a note saying that if you don't have gnome or kde installed and try to upgrade, it's not going to install them
