Its a older IMAC one of the coloured ones ! please help!

That would be an iMac G3.

At the beginning of this forum is a sticky entitled "Where to download Ubuntu for PowerPC and other frequently asked questions." That would be the place to start.

Yes it is G3 Model. I manged to download 7.10 for it then boot it up on it but you cant see anything. You can hear the login music but no picture!

i found the best way to get to terminal is to type Linux single at the boot prompt after start up. now you have terminal. then follow the directions from the wiki. put the # infront of the dri mod. and change the display mods. as instructed.
