earlier today my friend showed me a new distrobution of linux, that you can install on your webserver, and you can use it on your web browser as if it was an adobe flash program, and people can connect to it and use it with you... or thats what he said. He was using thier online demo, and it looked really neat...

but the problem is... I can't remember the name of it... and I can't find it anywhere on google...

does anybody know the name of this distro?

That would be Ulteo Connected Desktop founded by Gael Duval, the fellow who originally founded Mandrake Linux. There are two projects: the online desktop and an installable distro based on Ubuntu.

I'm positive. I've been part of their beta test group for almost a year. You need to register an account with them, then wait for an invitation to test to online desktop. Personally, I find it too slow to be of any serious value at this point.

did the demo desktop have a blue wallpaper when you first ran it?

Blue background colour, no wallpaper. I've attached a screen capture of it running in Firefox on my Gutsy laptop.

EDIT: Oops! Right after posting the first screenie, KDE decided to Krash.(See second attachement).

Eye OS may be what you're thinking of.

Eye OS isn't Linux running in a web browser. It's a separate "OS"...just a web 2.0 app really.

Thank you for stating the obvious, now if you would please start being polite that would be great.

I merely suggested what he might have been thinking of, i never stated that it was linux.
