I just went to the store and got doom 3 becasue I heard I could run it under linux. I'm not a big gamer but I hear many people talking about it so I went and bought it. I was able to get it working but I think some objects and the rendering system in acting funny. I'll be playing it and all of a sudden my screen will turn red for a few seconds and go away. Or i'll enter a room and the door or an object will be glowing. And I think the sound triggers are messed up becasue all of a sudden I will hear laughing. Makes no sense. I'm not sure what else I need to configure.

Apart from perhaps the glowing objects it sound like the game is running fine - it's supposed to be scary with special effects and the like. However if infact there is something wrong please provde a screenshot of the glowing objects etc (http://imageshack.us/ will host it).

Stop skipping the cinematics and actually read/listen to the email, video files and audio-files on the PDAs you encounter during the game :)

Then, the laughter and glowing objects won't seem so foreign O:)
