hello, sorry to hear that. I have had the same problem on other computer just with the 32-bit version of Hoary live cd. I'm going to recieve my 64-bit computer on monday so I'm hoping I can get the live CD to work , before I actually install it.

Aye, tomorrow as in Monday! I'm so excited to build this computer, is going to be my first build but I think I shall do fine. I'm going to get some latex gloves just to keep my oily, and sweety hands from getting on the computer parts. I'm not sure if I'm going to buy an anti-static wristband yet.

Only my first PC was pre-built a computer, I have been building my own computer ever since. It's a lot of fun, and you learn a lot more than what an average DELL tech support guy would ever know ;-).

I use latex gloves as well. They should be good enough, as most don't build up static.

Do you have an ATI graphics card? It's a known issue with ATI cards. For people with Ubuntu installlations, they had to disable hardware acceleration to boot into the desktop. There are quite a few how-to's and posts on this problem, do a search in the forums.
