efectos 3d en compiz. No los tengo

Amigos, en ubuntu 7.10 configuro el compiz, pero buscando el la red, veo que se pueden agregar plug-in. Uno de ellos es Efectos 3 D Windows, tal como dice esta pagina http://blogubuntero.wordpress.com/2007/07/06/instalar-los-efectos-3d-en-compiz-fusion/

y se ve en la foto algo realmente hermoso.

Hice lo indicado allí, pero no me da resultado. No tengo en mi panel de configuración de compiz esto de 3 d windows en Efectos.

¿alguien sabe cómo conseguirlo o cómo se instala? gracias.

tenes los drivers para aceleracion 3d instalados? verificaste que esten funcionando?

postea tu xorg.conf, y modelo de placa de video, para ir ganando tiempo.

tengo los drives nvidia que coresponden a mi placa. De hecho veo el cubo, pero no me muestra para habilitar esos efectos.
¿como veo los xorg.conf? me podes decir qué orden debo dar en consola para eso? perdón soy nuevito..gracias

Bajaste el CompizConfig Settings Manager ?? Porque no viene por defecto!!


Tenes activados los efectos de escritorio? (Clic derecho sobre el escritrorio -> Propiedades -> Efectos) ??

No encuentro el Compiz Setting Manager que nombrás, si en cambio tengo el Advanced Desktop Efect Setting.
En cuanto a los efectos de escritorio, que me nombrás, haciendo click sobre el esritorio no me aparece propiedades...etc. como ponés.
Pero te comento que algunas cosas he configurado (minimizar, el cubo que rota, etc. etc.) solo que quisiera ver ese icono 3d windows que no veo en el Setting que te nombraba.

Para tener todos los efectos 3d que tenias con Beryl tenes que bajarte el paquete compiz-settings-manager que no viene instalado por defecto.

Si, pero ojo no todos los efectos vienen por defecto con la instalacion de Compiz, algunos son experimentales otros estan hechos no por los programadores de compiz.

En synaptic busca compiz y fijate que es lo que hay instalado y que no, probablemente vas a tener que leer que es lo que hay y que no para agregar

Eso lo tenes que setear en en el menu de compiz en Animations (si mal no recuerdo el dibujito de la lampara de aladino)

jnajajaj te estas ekivocando kpo! como que no tenes nada en el xorg.conf? si no tuvieras nada no te arrancaria la interfaz grafica, o tendrias problemas con la configuracion si es que carga una por defecto. fijate de hacer esto es una consola a ver que te tira: "cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf" si eso no te tira nada yo te diria que tenes un problema..... salu2!

gracias faktorqm pero porq cuando puse la primera vez no me aparecio nada en el archivo y despues cuando lo queria cerrar me preguntaba si queria guardar los cambios "si no habia hecho nada"
PD: tengo una geforce 6200 y debes en cuando se salen los efectos 3d y tengo q volver a configurarlos todo porq se vuelven a cero (ninguno en la pestaña de efectos visuales)

Los Efectos de ventanas 3d no vienen en el Compiz Fusion que viene por defecto en Gusty supongo que ha de ser porque las ultimas versiones dell efecto 3d windows tenian problemas y se arreglo unos dias antes que Gusty saliera, de todos modos hace unos dias salio la version estable de Compiz Fusion 0.6.0 asi que esperemos que en breve los repos de gusty se actualicen

Para tener todos los "lindos efectos" hay que instalar compiz fusion, que no es lo mismo que compiz ni que beryl.

A diferencia de con feisty, compiz fusion esta en los repositorios de ubuntu (bye bye Treviño), si tienen aceleracion 3d habilitada entren a synaptic y busquen por compiz fusion e instalenlo, lean las descripciones de lo que instalan. A la noche, les comento exactamente que paquetes tengo instalados y que con eso me andan todos los efectos.
