View Full Version : Is Myth for me?

All I really want to do is play the HDTV from my Diamond HDTV100 USB stick. I can do that by using the XP in dual boot, but I was trying to get the HDTV running as the last thing to be converted to ubuntu. I can't run the XP player (TotalMedia3) under Wine because it has a driver.

So I was hoping maybe Myth would solve that problem. But it looks like Myth solves problems I don't have, like interposing a server.

Can the server backend reside on the same machine in another partition?

Does Myth solve the player problem for the Diamond HDTV100?

Well i'm not sure if your card is supported, but you can have a backend and a frontend on the same machine. In fact most people do, in the same partition.

Your card will not work till there is a linux driver for it. According to linuxtv.org your card is unsupported. See http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/ATSC_USB_Devices for details
