it a really nice compliment to compiz-fusion... it would be nice to have it included into the official repos.

This should be proposed for inclusion in Debian, not Ubuntu.

Why not propose it for Ubuntu? Ubuntu has MANY more packages than debian. If it had the same packages, then it would use the same repo. ;)

I must say that gDesklets is one of the most offensive things in the repos as buggy poorly polished junk that should be marked ALPHA and taken out of the repos. It simple doesn't work, and what does work, does not have that "integrated" look in any way.

Anyway, not that I got that out of the way... If this actually works, from the screen shots, it looks very nice for those that like that OSX "playground" look for their desktop.

I must say that I agree with this. I have spent a little time toying with gdesklets for them not to work with compiz-fusion (Gutsy)! I have set up Screenlets in minimal time to work as "widgets" with compiz-fusion.

gdesklets and Screenlets are two different things.

Submit a RFP (request for package) bug against WNPP in debian

Ubuntu doesn't really have way more packages than Debian when you consider the number of Ubuntu-specific packages (there are over 800 language-pack packages for instance). From a maintenance point of view it is much better to have a package in Debian and then sync it over to Ubuntu. It's also nice because then Debian users can use it too.

what I would love to see is superkaramba ported to gnome , it is so superior to screenlets or desklets there is no comparison.

It most certainly does not.
