Problem: The brown colour system doesn't suit everybody. Its a either love or hate colour.

Solution: Make an alternative theme, wallpaper ect available.

I've been using Ubuntu for over a year now, I recommended it to some friends recently and they were put off by the colour scheme being new to ubuntu they wern't able to install new themes ect.Mabey if a blue colour scheme could be made available and the user could be give an choice in which they wanted when ubuntu is being installed.

If anybody has any suggestions please add them!

Thanks

Have you suggested looking in the Appearance menu? There are quite a few there, and Clearlooks can be customized to change the color.

Also, nothing will change with the installer, it will only get simpler. Reason is because the devs want it to be as simple as possible.

An screen giving the choice of blue or brown isnt going to make the installer any harder to use, if anything it will make things easier for new user as they will be more in control.

A new user to linux would have problems changing a wallpaper, splash screen, icons and theme.

It would be alot easier if users were just given an option to what colour scheme they wish to use.

Make a blueprint for it on launchpad, then. But I do not think that the developers will go at this lightly.
