I would like to see an option (like a radio button /choice?) of setting up separate root and login account during installation.
I know i can set up a root account using
sudo passwd root but then again the login password is the one that was created during installation.
This is especially useful if you are administering large number of computers both in and out of network.
what do you think? please vote...

Bad Idea. Root is disabled for a reason.
It is a target for hackers in SSH because everyone knows all linux boxes have a root account.
Also, when one is logged in as root, noone knows who is doing what.
When you have to sudo, it logs everything.
It is also more secure for each administrator to have their own password so that if one leaves, then they do not need to change root, they just delete his/her account.

I don't know anything about administering large numbers of computers both in and out of a network. Why does having a root account help in that case? And, if you are a network administrator, how hard is it to sudo passwd root any way?
Ubuntu is targeted at home users mainly.

It doesn't sound like a particularly good idea. I could see a great increase in breakages occurring if this were introduced. The result would be that the community would end up having to solve a lot of problems which should never have happened.
