yup... title says it all.
my card can connect just fine with the Gnome applet, but the DHCP takes forever. with GTKwifi, it stops trying and says the DHCP failed before it can finish connecting.
at least make it an option... (or tell me how to change it :P)

hmm... that's strange. i'm running an Atheros netgear with gtkwifi. Sometimes DHCP takes a while, but usually after a couple of tries it connects (when it doesn't do it on the first try). Not really sure what to tell you except maybe reboot, move closer to the access point, and then try again. Also, try not booting with the card in (if you're using an external card) and putting it in after boot (that's what I have to do, otherwise it hangs on boot).

i'm about 10' from the access point... i think the problem is just that it gives out DHCP very slowly... it takes 30sec to 1min using the gnome applet, but eventually it connects.
it's not really a big deal, i only need to connect to 3 or 4 networks, so zero-touch is kinda pointless

I don't know what to tell you. Sometimes this happens for me and sometimes it doesn't. If anyone has had this problem and has solved it, please let us know.

Just FYI, but DHCP will continue even after is says "failed". Give it 20 seconds and see if it works.
