What about a program that automatically erases your windows partiton and expands your Ubuntu partition to take over the space that Windows left. This would be good for people that tried Ubuntu and didint think would make the complete switch but later want to make it.

You can't expand partitions unless you used LVM. But you could reformat your windows partition and make it into something usefull.

There might be important data on Win partition. backup first must be done!

I've expanded a partition before without LVM. However, a feature like this would require a really long move partition process and then expanding.

My bad just found out that GParted 0.3.3 can do this. Though I havn't tried it out for my self yet.

Probably a better idea would just be for it to swallow up the win partition and incorporate the files into your home dir. Minus WINDOWS and Program Files of course!

The worst idea I've ever think about. You have to let the user the FREEDOM of having a Windows in its computer too.
Just my 0.02 € of course !

Yes, give the user the ability to choose!

A classic example of "freedom" and "choice" being put forward as invalid arguments for or against something.
Would the user not have the "freedom" to not "choose" the option?

23meg (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=11472), I would always love to choose from different things. Thus, the initial idea is not that good.

I think you need to read the original post again.

If there was a menu choice to make a complete switch I think I might use it. A better idea though might be to have an "expand you ubuntu partition" option. So that you could either expand into free space or overwrite windows when you ran out of space on the ubuntu partition.
