I Know there already is a topic started for DVD Cover Art, but its so outdated,
i felt the need to create a new one for the release of Gutsy.

Anywho, as i posted earlier, I had some free time today, so I decided to create a new DVD Cover for Gusty.

I wanted to showcase more of the new features of Gutsy vs. The same old features listed on the old dvd covers.

Here is what I have created so far:

Please give me feedback so I can change the design as needed, or if I have more spelling mistakes

It looks too messy to me, I like the other one better. Also, too many pics and the fonts don't work well together (to me).

It's busy but very informative and professional looking. I like this one, the others are very plain.

How about covers for the thin DVD cases?

I found this cover somewhere on this forum when Gutsy was beta and I liked it very much and I thought some might also enjoy it as an alternative to yours although I do plan to use yours from here forward as this one is in French I believe.

PLEASE NOTE I did not create this cover it was originally posted by arqsuriel

You might want to change "Compiz Fusion 0.52" to "Compiz Fusion 0.6", as that is the version Gutsy uses.

I created a DVD cover for the Playstation 3 Gutsy Gibbon as there are non for it. I borrowed some examples from previous versions.

It is the first time I've used Macromedia Fireworks, so I don't think it is too bad. This is what I made.

:)

If you think you can improve the cover, this is the original PNG file that you can edit. Feel free to do so. Download the file below.

By the way, you forgot to change the edition from PowerPC Edition to PS3 Edition. ;)

I like it. Could use some polish, but it's great for a first-time Fireworks user. Believe me, my first stab at Fireworks was terrible.

Print it out on paper, cut it out (if needbe), and buy some blank DVD cases to but them in.

I think so, but it might depend on the DVD case size. I think most are designed to accomodate letter sized labels.

It's okay. The font isn't what I'd use and the pictures seem a little crowded. It doesn't seem to be so much a gutsy cover as a compiz cover. I'd go for a more natural thing, and simplicity.

I thought since the PS3 uses the IBM PPC Cell Processor that it would be classed as a PowerPC Edition, but I will change it shortly. Thanks. :D

You can try putting the file onto CD and get it printed off using a colour laser printer (at a College/University/Public Library?) or use Nero CD Cover Creator and print it of at home ;)

Thanks, do you have any ideas on how I can improve this?. I can still edit it, I want it to look really good so that people using Linux on their PS3 can print it off and use it.

I used the size template from a Official BluRay Disc cover. So to fit it onto a DVD case their might be some resizing involved. I will upload a DVD case version once I have finalised the design.

I will try to remove some text that is not needed and possibly remove the images of the BluRay, DVD and DIVX logos etc.

Thanks guys. If you have any more suggestions, please do tell me.

Hello Guys, this is my PS3 Ubuntu Cover (version 2) with the suggested changes. The design has been simplified, and extra images removed. It has been resized so it will properly fit into a BluRay Case.
