Trackmania United: Can't play multiplayer

I have the Steam version, so Starforce isn't an issue. I am able to play solo just fine, but whenever I try to join or spectate a multiplayer game, it just closes itself. Any ideas? I'm using Wine to run it FYI.

That is actually very cool: the fact that it runs with Steam fine... Makes me almost buy it (though steam). Still unbelievable even the free TM:Nations has Starforce....

It's actually a really awesome game. I was hooked on TMN and TMU is just an enhanced experience. While there aren't nearly as many available servers, there are still tons of different tracks and the new environments are awesome. But why is it only the multiplayer that's going haywire when I try to run it..?

How did you get it running in Wine? This is what I get.
