ATTENTION: Menu names could be different, i'm just traslating from my language (Italian)

Ok, here it is, simple and clear.

1.Enable Compiz Effects:

System->Preferences->Appearance-->Visual Effects Tab: Set it to Normal/Extra

2.If not already done, intall CompizConfig Setting Manager:

System->Administration->Synaptic: find and install "compizconfig-settings-manager"

3. Start Compiz Manager and enable feature:

System->Preferences->Advanced Desktop Effects Settings->Window Management Section-> Scale->Actions Tab->General:

Now Double-click on "Initiate Window Picker For All Windows" and select screen corner as u like it, and click on OK.

That's it!

Thanks for the pointer, I spent over an hour looking for that after upgrading my Feisty (Beryl) setup to Gutsy with Compiz. It was one of the only behaviors I was really missing from my previous config.

Haha, thanks. It was easy to find in Feisty, they hid it pretty well in Gutsy. I couldn't find it.:lolflag:

Now if I can get the missing emerald-themes and get the toolbars back this will complete my update to Gutsy Ubuntu Stable. :confused:

Then move on to mySQL database migrations projects now on hold.....

Thanks for the help. :)

Hi, I had the same problem finding it. But after i see this forum i use advanced search with keyword 'picker' and found it! Thanks to iomicifikko.

It's on Windows management -> Scale -> Action tab -> General

Enjoy!

Thanks for the tip. I was trying to find that feature too with no luck. The info and description of effects in the control panel needs to be improved. I was using compiz and beryl on and off and still get confused by descriptions and naming conventions.

You can also make the corners clickable, i.e. go to the hot corner then click to activate scale or whatever it's set to.

Bye

I keep looking for the Advanced Desktop effects settings and I do not see it. I do see the Compiz Settings Manager. I also tried to run the "ccsm" command and go this message :

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/ccsm", line 45, in <module>
idle = ccm.IdleSettingsParser(context)
File "usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/ccm/Utils.py", line 229, in __init__

File "usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/ccm/Utils.py", line 225, in FilterPlugin
AttributeError: 'compizconfig.Plugin' object has no attribute 'Initialized'

Could someone help me out?

Thanks for the tip.

;)

Having recently migrated from OSX, it's a feature I was really missing.

Now I'm happy.
