I have a dual monitor dell with a nvidia GeForce 7300 LE. I have just performed a clean install of gutsy and installed the restricted nvidia drivers.
I have Xinerama turned off, so that I have two instances of X running. When I enable the desktop effects all seems well.
...but on my first screen, even though the animations all run smoothly and quickly, they have a 1 - 2 second delay on starting. This is especially annoying when trying to navigate menus, etc.
It seems to apply to anything that has to create a window type object, so applies to new windows, un-minimising, drop down list creation, menu selection, etc.
Any ideas?
