Hi, this version it's available in Debian Sid repositories. It would be great to backport it to Ubuntu.
Thanks.

This isn't a put down, but rather something to give you hope. I went to their web page and followed the instructions that I found and was able to download, compile and install the newest version with no problems. You might want to try. http://www.wesnoth.org

I've always took the initiative do do things myself, especially when it comes to compiling. Ever since 0.9.4, I've been compiling it manually.
Mainly since Wesnoth is in development to release 1.0, and updates are pretty close.
I've actually written a BASH script that installs wesnoth, and it's dependencies. It also handles upgrades.

0.9.7 is released, less than two weeks after 0.9.6.
At this rate I think we should hold off backporting until 1.0.

It would be great if 1.0 hit before breezy comes out so that it could follow on the CD.

Too late the Freeze is already in place for Breezy. Speaking of it, a Preview should be coming out soon.
