Built-in theme maker so you can make your own themes?
A program that is pretty simple, even a php script could generate the xml file that is used by gnome...
The program would ask for:
-panel background
-icons
-window border
-exit button
-minimize button
-maximize button
-window menu button
-cursor
etc
Then it would save all the selected files to $your.theme.name; folder.
all you have to do is right click>add to archive

I don't see a reason why would Hardy have this feature...

I think all the devs spent enough time and effort on the compiz addition to Gutsy... they just need to iron it out and fix some of the issues that surrounded (and still surrounds) Gutsy for Hardy.
Visually, I think everything looks fine =)

On gusty, the compiz is ****, the windows bounce all over the place when you put them in certain places, you still only have one desktop per workspace.... Beryl is better than compiz

CF is nice. I just can't figure out how to increase the number of desktops while using it (yup, I have the ThingWithVeryLongName installed to configure the desktop effects). Otherwise, it blows away every single GUI environment I have seen to date.

Why is everyone interested in fancy graphics here?

A lot of people like a Desktop that looks nice. Maybe you don't, but most people do. And like windows, there will probably always be the option to return to an older, less fancy theme if you like. It doesn't do anyone harm by implementing fancy graphics if you have the choise of using them or not :)

The current desktop is awesome. I don't want the devs to spend too much time on childish pictures.

Well, I've not been using CF for anything other than Scale and Group/Tab windows. Those two *are* nice features. They let me get rid of the bottom GNOME panel and have more screen space to work with.

You do know you can turn all that stuff off?
I don't know how it happened, but I remember having more than one workspace per desktop on Gutsy while I was messing around with C-F. For the longest time, I couldn't figure out how it happened. I'll look at it tonight and see if I can recreate it.
