View Full Version : how to fix a messed up DATA.cab

ok this is kind of a long question but i want to give the details

ok ppl, im downloading and old game from maybe 1999, now its a torrent

and its 95.5% finished but through winrar i can still get the files it HAS

downloaded but when i try to install the game it says DATA.CAB corrupt

or somethin like that,the actual data.cab shows as a red,green,and blue

book icon(a packed file i think) when i click the setup for the game this

comes up but when i try to unpack the data.cab file it also says its

corrupt,is there a way i can fix this? i tryed foing to "fix archive" but it

says its not a zip or rar file.....plz help,and if im not detailed enough tell

me and ill try to explain more:confused:

You might try installing the cabextract package:
sudo apt-get install cabextract

would that work for windows XP?

This forum is for getting help with running games in Ubuntu, not Windows. On top of that, I didn't notice the reference to downloading a torrent the first time I read your post. Software piracy is not tolerated on these forums, you won't find any help here.
