I'm looking into buying a copy of WoW, and I really don't want to revert to winblows. So basically, I want to know if it's possible to make WoW work in Wine (Cedega MAY be a nice program, but i refuse to fork over 5 extra AMERICAN dollars per month so I can play a game i ALREADY pay for.) I notice that Cedega took the demos off their site, so really I have nothing to compare aagainst. Every other thread i find says the Sound doesn't work in Wine. Is there a fix?

If someone could be a dear and give me a walkthrough on installing/configuring Wine as well as installing WoW, it would be REAL nice. I admit, I'm lazy... but after the fun I had installing Guild Wars on my friends box, I've had enough fun for one day.

Any help is appreciated, raven.

I never was able to get WoW working properly with wine, so I really can't say anything on it's performance.

However, I currently play it through cedega and it runs excellently. I did, however, have an FPS problem due to having an ATI card, but the latest drivers released yesterday fixed that up. Right now I'm running it just as well or better than I did on Windows.

About paying for cedega, yes you'd have to pay, but, like many other things, theres ways to get around that, and just by quickly browsing some of the more popular BT sites, i'm sure you could get it without having to shell out the money if that's really holding you back.

But, if you don't wish to pirate it, or pay, theres always the CVS (testing) version of cedega which is free, but if I remember correctly doesn't have all the features regular cedega does, but it still should run WoW fine.

Good luck
