Splash screen keeps appearing

On boot up I continue to see the Splash screen even though I have deleted the "quite splash" from the menu.lst file. Also I remember seeing under the Preferences/Sessions tab, the option to enable/disable the splash screen but its gone now....
Any ideas?

Actually, you need to remove the word "splash". quiet refers to the scrolling messages at boot, which you will see if you remove the "quiet" word.

I disabled my splash screen a few days ago and now it's back also. I looked at my menu.lst file and the splash option has been turned back on. I assume that one of the recent updates has re-written the menu.lst file using default settings. I'll just edit it again and see what happens...
