1) Whats the saftest way of removing beagel from feisty (so it does not destroy everyting) in preparation for using tracker on gusty.
2) Also can both search engines run together? As I do like how beagel catalogs pidgin's IM. That is invaluable!

1) sudo apt-get remove beagle
2) I don't see why not...

When I discovered Beagle was using up almost as much space with indexes as the filesystems it was indexing, I ripped it out, slapped up tracker and I've never looked back. I had no idea what a POS Beagle was until I gave it about 50 gigs of data on various NFS shares to index.
Ye gods and little fishes, what a horrible piece of software.

1) sudo aptitude remove beagle ?!
2) Both ? Do you want to see your computer suffer a thousand death ?
Too bad tracker doesn't index - or doesn't seem to index - pidgin IM... :(
