I guess this is a good of a place to put this as any. I think this would be awesome to control the 3d desktop cube.

While the game itself is an incredible accomplishment, I don't see how that could be used for any sort of UI.

You say rotate the cube of the multiple desktops? I don't see how rotating a small cube that must be in front of a camera (which most people have on top of their monitors) would be a better idea than the way it's navigable now.

The point of the game was combining real world visual with artificial ones. Something PlayStation's EyeToy has done in the past. If the cube were used to change desktops, you'd want the cube to take up the full view of the camera, and therefore lose the real world visuals.

I think he just means being able to display the desktop on the cube, but really for the control of the desktops to be by rotating the cube. You could combine the implementation of the game with compiz-fusion with a little work I bet. It seems kind of pointless, but it would be extremely cool to see in action.

This is just the kind of pointless thing that Linux geeks would looove. Well, the kind who like to customise their compiz-fusion.
