Firefox spell checker - wrong language!!

Hi Guys,

I have a problem in Gutsy.. Firefox spell check is the wrong language, it's using an en-uk dictionary. When I installed Gutsy I specified en-us as my language. I don't understand why FF uses the UK dictionary..

Please help it's driving me batty! :lolflag: I'm spelling words like color right but FF is marking as wrong because our neighbors across the pond spell it colour. My spelling is bad enough with out a spell checker confusing me even more. :KS

Is this something that will be fixed when Gutsy if final or can install another langage pack some how?

i could be mistaken, but if i remember correctly, openoffice.org & firefox (the firefox package from the official ubuntu repo) use the same dictionaries. so check which ooo dictionary(ies) you have installed and install the en-us package if it isn't already installed. if it is and you also have en-uk installed, you might try uninstalling the en-uk package. (but first make sure it won't remove anything else essential)!
