Hi there,
I'm looking for the game Nexuiz, but I only found the tar.gz-files, but no deb-file.
Have you found a source to install it via apt-get ?
Thanks in advance,
Regards
Andreas

No, I don't think there's any .deb files for it. Do you have trouble compiling it?

No need to compile it. Just get the Installer from LIFLG.org and use that. I did compile my own binary, but when I tested it against the official binary, there was no real performance difference. To each, his own, I guess.. but I do recommend the installer. :)

Well, if you don't do any optimizations, there probably won't be a big difference.

Yea, but that would be ricing, like gentooers do! (I used gentoo before Ubuntu)

You need to optimize like that to get any real preformance increase!

Hi!
I'm still new to gaming with Linux, espacially with Ubuntu.
I've downloaded Nexuiz, but I don't know how to install it. I don't know from where you have the tarballs. I only got it in a zip-archive. In this archive are many Windows-executables and shell-scripts without file-ending. The readme doesn't say something about starting or installing it, also the wiki. So how do I get this game work?

If you got a installer that's zipped you might have gotten the windows version.
It's super easy to install. Just download the .run file from here:
http://liflg.org/?catid=6&gameid=64
Save it to your home directory.
Then open up a terminal and type 'sudo -s' to get a root shell.
You should still be sitting in your home directory. Just type 'sh nexuiz_1.1-english-2.run'. That'll run the installer. Use tab completion so you don't have to type the whole thing also.
Good luck.

I found that already. I also wanted to download from there already 3 days ago. But when I click on the link, there comes "Unknown error".
So where can I get it?
