A few questions (issues?)

When I had the AMD64 RC running I could not play any DVDs whether I was in Myth or from the desktop. I would just get a failure that indicated that there was no media or no codecs. I tried Mplayer and XINE both fail.
I also ran into an issue that I could not eject a DVD from the Desktop. I t get a failure that the CDROM is owned by "a long number" (about 10 digits).

I am not sure about the 64, but for me in Mplayer it had to do with the codec. Choose the ffcodec for video and audio.

There are a bunch of tiny settings in there that will give you a stumble. Mplayer plays them fine though once you get the codecs and settings right.

Also mind you, you do need libdvdcss2 installed. It is installable from medibuntu via m-c-c.
