None of the games I want to play will run on here as well as most of the programs anyone know any freeware besides WINE that will run windows programs?

The only real options are the Wine derivatives, Cedega and CrossOver (neither of which are free). Of course you could also set up a dual-boot system and have Windows and Linux on the same machine.

Before you tried running these games, did you check Wine's application database to be certain that they would run? For that matter, what games have you tried?

I did not check currently I am trying to run Last Chaos and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. Also how would I go about setting up a dual boot system?

Last Chaos stopped working with Wine sometime after the 2.0 update. It's not a fault in Wine, it is something they did to the LC client.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has had inconsistent performance with Wine, but there is a basic how-to in the AppDB entry for the game that might help:
http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=7377

As for dual booting, it is relatively simple, except Windows needs to be installed first, then Ubuntu. There is a decent how-to here:

Cedega does not code much $15 for 3 months, tbh good buy for me anyway, its not much to ask and means I can run my cs with ease (after few days of tinkling, with wine it was terrible.) Or you can compile the CVS for free http://cvs.transgaming.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/ btw u dont get point to play.

The CVS version is years out of date and not worth the trouble at all. The current version of Wine works hundereds of times better than CedegaCVS and has none of the hassle.
