Hi there,

Just installed gutsy (clean install)

I have an ati Radeon X1600 card.

The default drivers work, but can't let me set my refresh rate higher than 60, so my eyes hurt.

I installed the restricted drives (which gave me no problems in feisty).

Now, the following problems occur:

Ubuntu doesn't boot into X without having my second screen powered on
That would be no problem, if only I could actually use it. When i configure it as secondary using the X.org tool, x borks up.

Anyone any ideas ? I upgraded from Feisty first, had the same errors, thought it must be due to the upgrade, then did a clean format and install, but the issues remain.

Things i've tried so far:

- sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
(selected fglrx) = fail

- aticonfig --initial = fail

Still the same behaviour. Even when I remove my second screen completely from my xorg.conf file, he still doesn't want to start X without it turned on.

Meh ... :(
