No seriously the best was to praise the develops is to pick a project that has helped you out in a big way, post a big thank you on their mailing list and then lend a hand by doing 1 simple task. there is always something simple that can be done even if it's just confirming a bug in launchpad/bugzilla, writing notes, ideas, graphics or helping out with the code.

We are great because of our community. Ubuntu.
