Startup sounds so loud ?

Does anybody else has this? My volume is turned all the way down but the drums in the beginning start at max volume very annyoing :mad:

This happened to me, today for the first time actually.

However, when I went into alsamixer, it showed my sound card was set to 100%... as opposed to the 10% I had it set at prior to reboot.


Gusty is just full of wonderful sound glitches ;)


This is quite annoying for me, because my headset, at 100% volume, is as loud as my stereo speakers...

I also noticed that login jingle is far too loud!

I had to replace it with no sound. It does not hurt me the jingle itself, but that it is really to loud.
Of course I know I can lower the volume, however for most programs I keep it at about 80% and really cannot remember to lower at shutdown for the login sound... :)

Lower the volume of your speakers using the physical turny thing.

I can confirm this. It appears to be related to the ALSA only controlling PCM (Wave for Windows people, the one with really high and really low sound) problem with HDA Intel cards.
