help with compize fusion

i have installed Compiz on my ubuntu fiesty...and it works for a while and when i restart my somputer and try to open up firefox or any other application the compize goes away...all the effects go away and leaves me with only 2 worklplaces...i think that the compize keeps on crashing ..i installed compize a few times but it keeps on doing the same thing...so if anyone can help that will be very greatfull.... thanks..

If you go to your preferences in the CompizConfig Settings Manager under system> preferences> advanced desktop effect settings and look at backend, which is selected? GConf Configuration Backend or Flat-file configuration backend?

Also, how did you install Compiz? Maybe it's an unstable version.
