Need Some Help (noob)

Ok, so i downloaded AWN and Compiz.

What i wanted to do was get the MAC like middle thing, using AWN..
but i installed AWN and when i click

System > Pref. > AWN

It wont open.


I also wanted to do the cube thing, where you can see all 4 sides at once,
using compiz manager.


Compiz opens and i select the cube one,

but im not sure where i go to next.
Please, i really would appreciate the help.

if anyone could help me out.

how do i get awn to work.

My manager finally opened,
but how do i get it to actually appear?
