I tried both for a long time, i suggest 32, even though 64bit ran better, but it seems i had issues running normal programs, why not just run 64bit ubuntu on it? thats what i run now

32 is the best - for windows ;)

A lot of people say there is no drivers for 64 bit, it was actually slower!, and just the typical micro$oft complaints...
anyone who likes 64 bit would use Linux ;), and everyone's used to 32 bit windows

sweet deal,
x32 seems to be the one to go with,
i had read around that the x64 runs kinda funky with x32 programs,
but that it was a hit n miss with some,

i have x32 Ubuntu installed,
but i keep windows as dual boot for noobie purposes :P

Better late than never ...

I have had absolutely no probs with x64 (SP2). Found drivers for all the hardware and all but AutoCAD 2006 installed correctly (.net not included on disk). After installing net and the 1.1 upgrade, ACAD installed fine. Have tested the Need for Speed series, Crysis, and FEAR on it and they work fine as does the XBox 360 controller. AutoCAD 2008 (64 bit) runs great as well. I heartily recommend x64.

@OP

x86 does have some compatibility issues.. Also, getting 64-bit drivers are a big headache. Do you have an Intel mobo? (Intel, Asus,and some more manufacturers include 64-bit drivers in their mobo driver disk)

Anyway, to be on the safer side, go for x86, since 64-bit doesn't have any prominent speed differences over the 32-bit editions.
