Hi all,
It seems nvidia have released another round of linux drivers, this one being version 7676 (previously 7667).
Has anyone tried these out?
Noticeable changes?

Not yet. It seems they only effect people with 7800GTX cards.

I'm running 7676, no issues, no problems, really, no changes.
NVNews is a great place to hang out, two of the developers on the NVIDIA-Unix team hang out there and contribute quite frequently.

Well I am trying to update my nvidia driver, but when I get out of X and run it, I get errors about not having gcc and stuff. I have updated Nividia drivers on another distro. Is there something I am not doing?

run: sudo apt-get install gcc
And then it will work ;)

How do I update my drivers? I followed the directions from ubuntuguide.org to install nvidia drivers, but it installed the 7174 drivers, and I was hoping to get the 7667 drivers.

I'd also add apt-get install build-essential

i installed the 7676 on suse snf they broke my shutdown screen which is a minor problem as everything else works fine. in ubuntu ive never tried using anything other than the drivers from synaptic coz they make it so easy to install and just work :)
