[SOLVED] Is gnome broken?

Hi all, switched the box on this morning and gnome seems to be knackered. I tried deleting all my config files, creating a new user and uninstalling compiz, still no joy.

All I get is 2 panels and a solid colour background. I'm mighty surprised given that we are well into 2.20 now. Anyone else experienced this?

KDE is working fine by the way.

just tried running nautilus from a terminal in kde and nothing happens, no error messages or anthing, tried re-installing it, no joy.

Someone was talking about this in #ubuntu+1, you should get on there and keep up to date.

I just rebooted and I'm back in action, there was a crash dump about gnome-vfs or something like that. All good now anyway.
