Its bad enough that I must taint my computer with one copy of windows but now I have a virtual copy and a normal install on a seperate partition. I was wondering if it was possible to run my existing windows install under virtualbox. I sure wish they made good architecture programs for linux, then I could toss windows and say goodbye forever.

Yes as a matter of fact you can use virtual box on an existing windows install. Here's a link to a post i wrote on my blog:

adult swim,
your link is the thread "Boot an existing XP (Physical HD) install with VMWare",
but this thread is about VirtualBox.
