I installed the Gutsy beta and patched. I also enabled the restricted drivers - including the broadcom 43xx chipset driver. Overall, the system works great - even the wireless card works (sees my network). Problem is I can't connect. I'm using WPA for security and I can't successfully login. Anyone have any ideas?

Thx for the help!

I have a dv5130us and the wireless works for me. My point is WPA personal. what option did you pick when turning on the restricted drivers?

Don't remember any options - just enabled it. Maybe my memory is incorrect though. What are you thinking of? Thx for taking the time.

when you enable the restricted broadcom drivers it asks if you want to install the drivers from your harddive or disc or it gives you the option of using ones found on the internet

Oh! Forgot about that - I downloaded the one from the internet.

I don't know any of the technical stuff. If you have access to your router you might want to try turning the security off and see if you can connect.

I take it that means the driver from the internet is working just fine for you?

I was unable to connect with the network manager had to leave it in roaming mode to get on the internet so i proceded to uninstall the network manager and install wicd.

Do you get any ip address at all? or is it just 0.0.0.0.0

I have the same computer as you, and I'm planning on installing gutsy once to official release comes out. Getting the wireless to work properly with a bcm4318 is never ever fun, but I got it working satisfactorily under Feisty after much tweaking...

My problem is with WPA. If I wanted to just access an open wireless network, I'd be fine (also got it to work under feisty). No luck so far.

I don't use Gutsy yet, so I don't know
Assuming it's not someting on the router end like mac address filtering or whatver I anticipate that I'll have the same problem when I install... be sure to post it here if you find a fix, it'll probably save me some time
