Hi ,
I've got an external usb fast track m-audio sound card to which I connect my guitar to. I've tried to record my guitar sessions using audacity and jokosher, but the programs don't seem to get any signal from my guitar... Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm pretty sure that with that soundcard you need to install the EZUSB drivers. I'd also recommend JacK if you're planning on doing any recording. The provided link from linuxwizard is quite useful too.

Just a thought - but the most likely senario is that the sound applications are hooking up to your onboard soundcard rather than the external soundcard...
I am assuming that you can playback using the external card.
Does this soundcard have a preamps built in (if it does not you might not get enough signal to record effectively particularly if the guitar does not have an active pickup)...
Thats all I can think of at the moment
