hey folks,

i'm one of new user in linux and using os 11.04 and its almost a month.

i have 2 main problems encounter:

1. autoscreen lock - don't open the window which we provide the password (it happens if its idle for hour or more)

2. sleep mode - the next time i open it (suppose to be wake up or press any keyboard) nothing happen only a glow black screen appear.
* i did try using ctrl+alt+backspace (no effect)
What i did? I press the off power button or take out the battery. And now everytime i boot it encounters some sort of debugging something.


Do i have virus on my computer? Is it normal or what command i type in the terminal?

for number 1 try looking at the screensaver setting... it should be there.

We are using ubuntu for almost 2 years in our call center at ortigas.

8.04 kami ng start then ginawa ko ng 10.04..

Hindi ko pa masyado nasusubukan yung 11.04 may mga commands ako na hindi gumagana sa 11.04.

Magandang araw po! DarkZhadow here, newbie sa Ubuntu, pati na rin sa Linux. Stuck with Windows OS since 2000 pa, dati kasi hindi ko nagustuhan yung Linux, pero iba na ngayon.

So far ok yung Ubuntu 11.04, using Unity. Dapat nuon pa ako lumipat!

Makoy here, almost a year na with Ubuntu. Started with Maverick. Using Natty in Gnome-Shell and Xfce. Baka magupgrade din sa 11.10. Looks promising. (dual boot pa rin pala ako with W***ows for games. lol)

Xubuntu 11.04 user: ag desktop ko sa office sa Bulacan, ang desktop ko sa farm namin sa Bukidnon, isang VAIO Sony Laptop (formemrly Windows 7), at isang Samsung Netbook (formerly Windows 7 din) ay Xubuntu 11.04 na. One-year na ako using Linux.

Meron crashes and problems from time to time pero ganoon din naman experience ko sa Windows 7. Main advantage is no virus worry and no anti-virus needed. Ang na mimiss ko na lang ay ang Photoshop at Premier programs na nakasanayan ko. Hindi ko pa gamay ang GIMP for photo editing. At wala pa ako mahanap na magandang linux video editor.

mark po, medyo matagal ng familiar sa ubuntu. paminsan-minsan lang dati ang paggamit ko nito pero medyo dumadalas na ngayon.
so far don't like unity, the more i use it i more i dislike it.
love chat client, all-in-one (parang sa N900 ko. hehe)
love gimp mas mabilis dito kesa sa windows.
love audacious! winamp fan ako eh kaya masaya ko't nadiskubre ko sya (salamat sa buggy na banshee sa 11.10) saka ang ganda talaga ng tunog sa audacious, hindi ko alam kung bakit (sumali nga ako dito sa forum para ipagtanong yan. hehe)

nakakalito ang UI ng 11.10 pero masasabi kong maganda sya.

Yahooo! It's glad to be back! If I'm not mistaken, ang last na visit ko yata dito e noong 2009 pa. :D Tapos ang huling version of Ubuntu na nagamit ko nuon ay yung 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) pa. But as of now the latest version of Ubuntu is 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) na pala! :o Nagpaghulihan na ako...

My name is Rey Tubianosa, from the island province of Siquijor. I started using Linux only last September. I've tried many distros (Kubuntu, Debian, BackTrack, OpenSUSE) and finally settled for Ultimate Edition 2.7 (Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx core with multiple DEs and eye candies). When it comes to Linux, all my experience as a Windows network administrator would offer no help. That's why I tried to stay in the forums as much as possible so I can learn the ins and outs of this great operating system. I've been using Ubuntu forums for quite some times but it's only now that I discovered this thread (google-searching solution for my Smart Bro pre-paid kit).

All I can say now is MABUHAY TAYO LAHAT! :lolflag:
