I haven't tried it myself, but it is one of the games on my Wish LIst. Cedega has Official support for Far Cry. If you have a 64-bit processor Far Cry has something for it. Like a recompiled game for 64-bit. I don't know if that work on Linux though. But Far Cry does work with Cedega. With some issues however. One of the biggest ones is something to do with the water affect. Look at the transgaming forums for more info.

I've been playing around with it in wine but no luck yet. I used the install script from loki and I'm able to run the thing but it stalls alot and has some really wierd texture issues. I hope to buy cedega in the next week or so and run it and half life.

I've got it working on Cedega, but it wasn't easy. It seems that Cedega has issues with the 1.3 patch, I'm running with no patches. Additionally, I had to use a No-CD crack because Cedega would load the logo and then vomit when checking the disc.

It also pukes if you run the Texture detail at Medium. On my system is must be set to either Low or High.

I'm not a pirate, I legally own the game. I do hate the CD checks as they are quite easily defeated/cracked and only serve as an annoyance for legitimate game owners.

The framerate is crappy, it's playable, but not smooth. If you want smooth gameplay you need to turn everything down; almost to the point where the game loses most of it's luster. Of course, I wasn't too impressed with FarCry so I'm not missing too much.

Doom3/UT2004 I don't have to feed a CD, didn't have to No-CD crack it, and love it.

Crane, I'm not going to be using Cedega any longer, would you like my license/login/copy? I already cancelled the subscription, but had to pay 3/mo in advance. You're more than welcome to it if you'd like to toy around with it. I've already uninstalled it from my system. The login/right-to-updates expires in 3 months from last Monday.

I'm building a system by friday, if crane doesn't want it I can take it if you don't mind. I have a couple of games like " StarCraft " that are supported by cedega. I hope they are able to work. If you don't mind why are you leaving Cedega? Going back to Windows?!?

Jet2k5: Sorry, I would have given it to you but I've already kicked it over to Crane. The reason I'm not going to be using Cedega anymore is because in actuality there is no need for it. I don't like the idea of saying I'm Microsoft-free while indirectly/directly supporting D3D-only gaming. Coupled with that, performance is sub-par with Cedega on the games I tend to play (Graphically intensive FPS/Shooters), and most importantly, all the games I play (UT2004, Doom3, and soon Quake 4) will run native on Linux.

I would much rather play a game natively and support the developers decision to support Linux than use a 3rd party to play D3D games.

Basically, I can summarize my rambling:

1) No D3D games I currently play/care about.
2) Sub-par performance on graphic intensive games using an emulated/translated solution.
3) Conflicted (D3D MS versus OpenGL)

So, that's why I'm not using it any longer nor will I need to use it in the future. Honestly, Super FPS 2005 Whizzbang edition could come out, be the best game ever and if it only supported D3D I wouldn't touch it, even if Cedega was a viable option.

No, I won't be going back to Microsoft ever \\:D/

Crane: I emailed you the information, let me know if you have any problems/questions.
