I use Ubuntu, however I need to use a Windows program Matrix, for work. I have Slax on a usb stick(go anywhere) and was wondering if I could get W2k on one. I've found lots of sites for installing Xp but I don't have a copy of it. Only my old W2k pro and Matrix will run on my Windows partition, just thought it would be convenient to take it with me like Slax. I like having a personal system on a stick, sure beats lugging a laptop around.

That's what she said!
To the OP, I've never heard of Win2k on a USB stick. If I were you, I'd just dl WinXP: USB Edition. It's only 60 MB.

Did a search on the USB Xp version, they're clamping down on it for whatever reason and it seems you need the cd for it too. With the prices of sticks these days size isn't important. I've tried running W2k in Vmware on Ubuntu and it was painfully slow(compared to what I'm used to), my system considered ancient by some is still a lot more than the average. I hate to think. It also irks me to think of forking out money for an OS I don't want but unfortunately might need. Maybe I'll lug my desktop around.
