wow...glest works now.

I cannot believe it...I installed Gutsy daily build, and Glest works now! My Intel 945GM has been a pain in some senses...but did the driver get updated? I am stoked, makes me want to try some other games that didn't work before!

i tried it before and it didn't work with my intel i845g & the intel driver. i think i'll give it another try.

yes! it does work...but... i am 99% sure its cuz of the glest package i updated, not cuz of anything driver related.

i ran glest from command line and got some junk so i googled it and found out that the package of it i had installed from getdeb had some issues. the package was updated (still v2.0.0 tho) and i completely removed glest & glest-data as well as some folders it left in /usr and then installed the updated package and it works now.

my video card really sucks tho so i have to knock down the settings to get a decent framerate. (640x480, no shadows, anisotropic filtering 1x, bilinear filtering, fow off, stencilbits 0).

I got this game working, but there doesn't seem to be a difficulty setting... I get wasted within the first 5 mins of the by the AI. :(

Yea, I agree...sad thing is that my friends 7 year old kid came to my house and played it for like 5 hours non-stop. I guess I might be slow. :(

i didn't think it was that hard, i lasted half an hour before being wasted by the AI, on my first try!
