Hi,
I have just joined this forum and the more time I spend reading the posts of other people(troubeshooting and how it is so easy), the more I like this OS.

My prob is the following...
when I start and log in normally, the names of the desktops came to a default naming and as i switch to any one of them, all the panels just go away leaving me with only the desktop background visible. if i enter "Desktop Effects" inside the "System=>Preferences" menus, and make disable desktop effects and then reanbling them, everything starts to work normally! ok?

hope someone figures out my prob, although I hope that i explained myself in a proper way beforehand! :P

regards and long live Ubuntu
Keith

it's prob. a bug, i've had problems with it myself and so I suggest not using the one that comes / came with feisty as it's too buggy.

compiz is old and beryl is old, compizfusion is what your prob. looking for, i believe it has its own forum or you can do a search on the forums on how to get, install and use it on feisty.

I agree. I experienced the same bugs when using the default desktop effects that came with feisty. Installing compiz-fusion solved the problem.
