Well after trying to frustratingly compiling mupen64_nogui which was a big pain in the rear due to tons of bugs in the code I still cannot get it to work. So the only option is to play it via GUI.

Problem is I wish to run it via Mythgames so I do not wish for a gui. Looking around it seems there was maybe 2-3 projects for n64 emulators and they are all dead and incomplete.

Does anyone know of any alternatives? How would installing wine and running a more mature windows n64 emulator sound?

Any input would be appreciated or if perhaps anyone can tell me while i get a segmentation fault error when I try to run mupen64_nogui that would be great :P

Unfortunately there aren't really any alternatives in Linux to mupen64, and getting the Windows emulators to run is spotty at best. I've had limited success running Project64, but it's still buggy to run under Wine from my experience, and other Windows N64 emus didn't run any better.

I seriously believe that mupen64 is the best choice, but I've never tried compiling the nogui version. If it's as rough to compile as you say, however, you might be unfortunately out of luck.
