If you or anyone you know has a functional laptop that you want to get rid of (donate), please get in touch with me. I would like to equip them with Ubuntu Linux, WiFi capability, and distribute them to students in need.
Minimum requirements:
- Intel processor, 500MHz or faster
- 256MB of RAM or greater
- 20GB hard drive or greater
- PC Card slot(s)
- CD-ROM drive
While I can't offer money for these laptops, I can guarantee that these will be given to children who wouldn't be able to own a computer otherwise.
Ubuntu is a community developed, linux-based operating system that is perfect for laptops, desktops and servers. It contains all the applications you need - a web browser, presentation, document and spreadsheet software, instant messaging and much more. Ubuntu is free software.
