View Full Version : Install Windows After Ubuntu And Keep Drive C?

I, unfortunately, need to dual boot with Windows XP Home (eww). Windows is already installed. I have a partition setup for it, everything's great, but I want the main drive in Windows to be drive C. (Windows setup marks the unknown partitions and makes the Win XP drive letter F). I know I can change it later, but I'm not sure it'd work. Would marking the existing partitions as empty and then set them back later destroy the existing data?

I also realize that I could reinstall Ubuntu and leave my /home (as it's on a different partition), but I'm offline and it'd be a pain to get the thing online to reinstall all my apps.

Any help is appreciated.
